VisibleLogistics at SITL 2008
Paris, Parc des Expositions de Villepinte, 11-14 March 2008
One of the leading European trade shows in the field of logistics and transport, the SITL ("Salon International du Transport et de la Logistique", International Week of Transport and Logistics, in French), will take place between the 11th and 14th March 2008 in Paris. This is an opportunity for BitLogistics to meet the movers and shakers in the world of transport and to present VisibleLogistics to various European companies.
As the names indicates, VisibleLogistics is making the main elements of the supply chain visible for small and medium companies. Typically in our system, a user will want to be able to enter the name of a company in the carrier field of a given order. Or he will want to match a carrier reference number and a product number (in VisibleLogistics, a carrier is a company or individual chosen by one of the partners to arrange the transport of the ordered goods from the seller to the buyer). It gives to all these companies a new way to communicate. The supply chain is not a line along which companies send one way messages, it becomes a collaborative network of partners.
Without VisibleLogistics, unless both the carrier and their customers have the same integrated ERP suite or EDI system, they have no way of communicating electronically. So VisibleLogistics is the perfect addition to the normal toolbox of transporters and freight forwarders. With VisibleLogistics they can meet the needs of the SME's who cannot afford heavy IT systems, but who still wish to manage their supply chain effectively. Even large logistics companies often only offer automated information exchange to their major customers: these typically represent 40 per cent of the consignments at best. The other 60 per cent are left with e-mail, telephone and fax. With VisibleLogistics, transporters and freight forwarders can now offer the same high level of service to everyone.
So those who want to meet us at this major event can send e-mail to jb+sitl@visiblelogistics.com. We can organise demo sessions for them and of course discuss any further collaboration, such as a personalised look and feel in VisibleLogistics.
